Working Capital Magic - From Customers to Cash Flow

Ever been in an extremely bumpy airplane ride where you thought the wings were going to get ripped off the plane?  Well, that's what I felt like today on my plane ride home from the Thanksgiving break.  The turbulence was brutal.  And you're hearing this from a guy that's probably been in over 200 airplane flights.  I used to consistently log over 110K flight miles per year.

The funny thing, in these bouncy flights, when people get nervous, they immediately look at the flight attendant to see how he or she is reacting.  They figure that if the flight attendant (who's clearly seen it all) is calm and collected, then everything should be fine.  In this case, I think our attendant was a little green, so people were a little nervous.  I guess the flight attendant is kind of a barometer of flight safety.

In any case, we safely landed back in the Bay Area. 

Back in SF

I got back from the CFO Working Capital Conference in Boston. The trip was crazy, but extremely fruitful from a marketing perspective. The fact that the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots were playing along with the Head of the Charles going on, made the city a madhouse. It was great watching the Sox win games though. I bet the whole of Boston went nuts after they won the World Series.

I Think I Smashed My Green Thumb

Random thought: Watering my plants by placing them under my upstairs neighbor's balcony where HE keeps and waters his plants and hoping for the overflow to fall down serendipitiously is NOT a sound strategy for extending my plant's life. Check out the picture - This used to be an azalea, I think. Now it looks more like soon-to-be driftwood. (Those leaves should be a verdant green, not orangutan red)

Moral of the Story: You just can't count on Serendipity. But it's great when it happens. Meanwhile, I'll invest in a rock garden.

I started this blog to talk about numerous topics that interest me on business. I think I'm going to periodically post pictures of this plant. Let's see if I can successfully resurrect it. And oh by the way, welcome to my blog.
